Is the Alerta Home Kit difficult to install?
Not at all! The Kit is completely plug-and-play — no tools, wiring, or technical know-how needed. Just place the Wedge and plug it into a wall outlet. The sensor pads and mats can be plugged in or run on batteries for short periods. There are no switches — everything connects automatically.
Does the Kit require Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to work?
Nope! Alerta Home has its own built-in cellular connection, so it works anywhere — even if there’s no Wi-Fi. That means you stay connected and protected, even during Internet or power outages.
Do I have to re-pair the Wedge every time it’s turned off?
No, you don’t. Once the system is paired, it automatically reconnects when you turn it back on. There’s no need to go through setup again — it just works.
Can I receive notifications on my Apple Watch or other wearables?
Yes! When you link the Alerta Family mobile app, you’ll receive real-time notifications right on your Apple Watch or compatible Android smartwatch — so you can stay informed no matter where you are.
